About Stewardship

About Training

About Regional events

What is Godly stewardship?

Using God's resources, God's way, to accomplish God's desired outcome.

Who would be considered a financial professional?

Anyone who provides financial advice or counsel to individual clients in a professional capacity.

How long has ADVISORS with Purpose™ been in existence?

The Canadian National Christian Foundation founded ADVISORS with Purpose™ in 2004 when it recognized the need for a Christian financial professionals network in Canada. Top of Page...

What form will the ADVISORS with Purpose™ training take?

ADVISORS with Purpose is currently developing regional workshops and local study groups. We also host a two day conference in Toronto each year.

What is the content of the training?

The material used for our workshops will vary for each event, but always have a scriptural basis and will be consistently useful to financial professionals in the advice-giving field.

Where will ADVISORS with Purpose™ training sessions be held?

Our goal is to hold training across Canada. As we get a critical mass of financial professionals in various regions, we will plan sessions accordingly.

Can I get CE credits for ADVISORS with Purpose™ training events?

Although CE credits are not our primary purpose of this ministry, we understand their importance from a practical perspective. We will make every effort to have them given for as many of our training sessions as possible.

What is the purpose of the regional workshops?

A significant part of the fulfillment of ADVISORS with Purpose's mission and vision occurs at the regional and local level. The regional workshops provide a launching point for more in-depth, on-going development of the membership through study groups and local chapter meetings. Top of Page...
The more frequent contact at the regional level among financial professionals will result in an environment where

•  supportive relationships and mentoring can take place,

•  the mission of ADVISORS with Purpose™ is promoted in the local financial professional community,

•  new people can benefit from the training and networking provided and

•  leadership is built for the future of this ministry.

What are the plans for the study groups?

The study groups consist of a small number of advisors (typically 4-10) that desire to learn and grow in their faith, ministry, and personal advice-giving practice. By studying the Lord's Word on specific aspects of stewardship and discussing as a group how to apply these principles to their own practice, members of study groups benefit substantially through this network initiative.  Top of Page...

I already have tried to develop a foundation in Biblical knowledge as it relates to financial stewardship. Do I still need to attend the training sessions? How will these be different from what I already know?

ADVISORS with Purpose™ is working to provide individuals with an avenue to learn and grow regardless of their present knowledge level. We are also working to network Christian financial advisors in a way that has never been done before in Canada. This interaction in the area of financial stewardship between reps from different backgrounds will create growth and ministry opportunities for all involved. It will also facilitate the application of what is learned so that members can implement the workshop training within their professional practice.

Is the training provided through ADVISORS with Purpose™ relevant to non-Christian clients?

Yes, Biblical principles can be a benefit for anyone willing to apply them as long recognized and proven wisdom, whether or not they personally hold a Christian worldview. During the workshops and study groups, advisors will learn how to introduce Biblical principles to non-Christian clients and learn in a practical way how to be a witness to them through advice given, actions demonstrated, and when appropriate a direct personal testimony.

Why should I become a member or supporter of ADVISORS with Purpose?

The primary reason to partner with ADVISORS with Purpose™ is to support a cost-effective lay-led ministry that educates people in our country about the meaning of true Biblical stewardship. Top of Page...

What is the membership commitment?

The amount we ask members to commit to varies based on several factors. A downloadable membership application and schedule can be obtained by clicking here. There are no additional commitments requested for study group involvement, other than the cost of materials.
Anyone who would like to support this ministry financially may also choose to make a tax deductible donation to 'ADVISORS with Purpose' c/o the Canadian National Christian Foundation.

Why do you ask me to provide character references as a part of my membership application?

First, many of our members use the ADVISORS with Purpose™ logo and information in their marketing material, indicating that they are an active member of the network and we need to be sure that just because somebody signed a statement of faith, we don't promote them without due diligence.
Secondly we often get requests from charities or individual clients for a Christian advisor and we need the confidence that we did our homework to be as sure as we can be that this person is a respected Christian advisor.
Thirdly our Foundation Board requires this as protection for the board and the Foundation, as it is the main sponsor of all we do at ADVISORS with Purpose™. Top of Page...
