Maria practices law with the firm, De Jager Volkenant, in Surrey, BC, focusing on serving charities and non-profits. Maria previously worked as in-house counsel and privacy officer with a charity based in Alberta, and as an associate with a general practice firm in Abbotsford, BC. 

Maria completed her law degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Ottawa. 

One of Maria’s favourite Scripture verses, which helps her to prioritize, is 2 Corinthians 4:18, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (NIV)
